Dad’s 60th. A Golden Wedding Anniversary. The milestone birthday for which the entire family travels from three different cities. Some occasions deserve more than a back room in a restaurant. They deserve a house, a long table under the open sky, and a few days that no one will soon forget.
A family celebration at a finca on Mallorca is exactly that: not just one evening, but an entire weekend or a week where everyone is together. And because the house is yours, you decide when the speeches are held and when the pool takes over. So that this great wish doesn’t turn into a great organizational project, here are the most important things to know.
Why a finca for a big celebration?
In a restaurant, there is a closing time; in a hotel, a breakfast room with 200 strangers. In a finca, there is: you. The grandparents can retreat to their rooms at noon, the children can romp in the garden, and the cousins can grill. In the evening, everyone sits at one table. No one needs to take a taxi home after the party.
Perhaps the most important point: A good finca offers space to be together. And just as much space to not be together. With several generations under one roof, that is not a luxury, but peace-keeping.
Ask first, celebrate later: Are parties allowed?
This is the question many people ask too late. Not every holiday finca is permitted to be used for celebrations. Some owners explicitly exclude parties and events, often out of consideration for the neighbors. Other houses are made exactly for this. Therefore, clarify before booking:
- Is a celebration allowed in the house, and to what extent?
- Are additional guests allowed who are not staying in the house?
- Are there rules regarding music and times?
- Is a caterer or private chef allowed to use the kitchen?
For every inquiry, we will honestly tell you what is possible in each house. It is better to have a clear 'no' now than an unpleasant evening later.
Three fincas built for large gatherings
Holiday home Grandina near Ariany: explicitly party-friendly
According to the owner, Holiday home Grandina is expressly suitable for family celebrations, groups, and events. Up to 16 guests can sleep in eight bedrooms, complemented by a 14,000 m² property in a quiet, secluded location. The saltwater pool measures 14 × 7 m, and there is a children's pool for the little ones. A covered terrace, porch, and grill are all there. One note: youth groups under 25 are not accepted here. For Grandma’s 70th, this is likely not a problem.
Finca Rotana near Porto Cristo: if it can be a bit larger
The Finca Rotana offers 800 m² of living space and 36,000 m² of property for up to 16 guests, with eight bedrooms. It also features a large chlorine-free pool, a spacious covered terrace, and a garden with orange, lemon, and fig trees. Those who celebrate here have one thing above all: space. We will clarify for you in advance whether and to what extent a celebration is possible.
Finca Son Lluny near Sencelles: the whole extended family
If the guest list stays in the double digits but at the very high end: Finca Son Lluny accommodates up to 32 guests, distributed between the main house and two secondary houses with 16 bedrooms and four kitchens. Two grills, including one built-in, a pool plus a separate children’s pool, and a playground. Here, too: coordinate celebration plans with us in advance.
You can find more houses for large gatherings under Finca Mallorca for groups and Fincas for 20 to 32 people.
The celebration itself: Who cooks, who cleans up?
Honest answer: If you do everything yourself, the host will end up in the kitchen at the end of the evening. That is exactly what she didn't want. That's why it's worth outsourcing the festive evening:
- Private chef: Paella in the garden, tapas at the long table, or a multi-course dinner. Read about how such an evening works in our article Private chef at the finca.
- Refrigerator stocking before arrival: So that the first night doesn't begin with a huge grocery run.
- Childcare: So that parents can also have both hands free when raising a glass.
- Extras: Wine tasting, yoga the morning after, excursions for the early risers.
Our WOW CONCIERGE organizes all of this. You tell us what you wish for. We take care of what is possible.
Planning with many heads
The larger the family, the more opinions there are. Who arrives when, who gets which room, who pays for the wine. A few rules that have proven successful:
- One person makes the decisions. Everyone else is welcome to make suggestions.
- Book early. Large houses for 16 or more guests are not available in unlimited numbers.
- Do not plan the celebration for the day of arrival. By the second evening, everyone has arrived, is well-rested, and is in the mood.
- Leave room in the schedule. The most beautiful moments happen between the planned activities anyway.

Frequently Asked Questions
Are you allowed to celebrate in every holiday finca on Mallorca?
No. Many owners exclude parties and events. Other houses, such as the Grandina holiday home, are explicitly suitable for family celebrations. Ask before booking, and we will give you a clear answer.
How many people fit into a finca for a family celebration?
That depends on the house. In our offer, there are fincas for up to 16 guests like Grandina or Rotana, and with Son Lluny, also an estate for up to 32 guests.
Can we book a chef for the festive evening?
Yes. Through the WOW CONCIERGE, we organize a private chef who cooks for you directly at the finca. You sit at the table instead of standing in front of it.
How early should we book a finca for a celebration?
As early as possible, especially for the summer months. Large houses are limited, and for celebrations, the date is usually non-negotiable.
