FINCA MALLORCA FOR GROUPS

Going to Mallorca with two people is a vacation. With eight, it gets interesting. With ten, it starts to require organization. And with twelve, the question eventually arises as to why nobody thought about a second refrigerator. Large groups actually need surprisingly little luxury and surprisingly much of the things that are usually at the very bottom of vacation home descriptions: bathrooms, large tables, places to retreat, shade, refrigerator volume, and the ability to get out of each other’s way for two hours without having to leave the property. Gassi sums it up more simply:

That’s why we didn’t just look at individual houses, but rather the more important question: What does a good finca for groups actually need to be able to do?

Six people: Everyone still knows whose swim trunks are whose.

With six people, you can have a surprisingly relaxed vacation. Three couples, a family with grandparents, or six friends – that’s still a scale where spontaneity actually works. You can get everyone at one table, you don’t need complicated room arrangements, and usually a quick “beach?” is enough to determine the daily plan. Anyone searching for this size should therefore pay less attention to maximum square footage and more to a good layout: enough bedrooms, reasonable outdoor areas, a pool, and a table where everyone can actually sit. You can find our current houses for smaller groups in the finca overview.

Eight people: Probably the most dangerous size.

Eight sounds harmless. But it isn’t. Eight is enough people for three different breakfast times to suddenly emerge, for someone to have become a vegetarian, and for two others to go to the supermarket “just for a second” and disappear for an hour. At the same time, eight is a pretty perfect finca size because the price is already split among several heads, while the pool, garden, and terrace remain just as private. Now retreat becomes important. Not dramatically much, but enough that no one feels like they are living in a very nice shared apartment for the duration of the entire vacation. Separate bedrooms, several bathrooms, and different spots outside are therefore often more important than a hundred additional square feet somewhere in the hallway.

“You can tell a good house by the fact that you don’t have to see the others all the time.” Gassi

Ten people: Now you see if the planning is any good.

With ten people, the priorities shift. The pool is still important, of course. But suddenly the question “How many bathrooms are there actually?” takes on an urgency it never had during booking. The true luxury of a large vacation home is not that everyone is together all the time. It is that they *can* be. In the morning, three are already sitting outside, two are still sleeping, one is driving to the market, someone is making coffee, and another has been saying for 40 minutes that they’re going to set the table soon. And in the evening, everyone is suddenly sitting together again. For ten people, we would therefore focus quite soberly on enough bathrooms, enough real seats, and multiple areas where you can spread out.

Twelve people: Now architecture becomes personal.

Twelve people no longer need a vacation home. They need a small system. At this size, it becomes interesting whether a house offers different living areas, a guest house, a granny flat solution, or simply very well-separated sleeping areas. Because even with very good friends, there comes a moment when someone would like to not see anyone for five minutes. That sounds trivial when booking. By the third day of vacation, it can be the greatest luxury of the house.

And if you are a really large group?

Then other rules apply. Large properties, multiple bedrooms and bathrooms, separate lounge areas, and plenty of outdoor space are no longer nice extras, but the actual concept. For very large groups, it is therefore worth choosing a finca where not all activities have to take place in the same location. One is lying by the pool, others are still having breakfast, someone is doing yoga, two are playing something, and three have disappeared anyway. You can always find our currently available large houses fresh in the finca selection from WOW FINCA.

The things almost no one looks for. But everyone needs later.

Anyone who types “finca Mallorca for 10 people” or “finca Mallorca large group” into Google usually looks at bedrooms, pool, and price first. Understandable. We would now also pay attention to bathrooms, table size, retreat, and refrigerator. Ten people and two showers are not a vacation concept. Twelve people should also really be able to eat together. Closeness on vacation is good, permanent proximity eventually becomes more of a field trial. And larger groups develop an astonishing consumption of water, beer, fruit, cheese, and things that, according to everyone present, “nobody bought.”

And finally: food. With ten or twelve people, a restaurant visit is wonderful – if you can get a table, everyone is finished at the same time, multiple cars are organized, and eventually someone gets the idea that actually, nobody wants to drive today. That’s why there is the more pleasant option at WOW FINCA: have food and drinks prepared for your arrival. You arrive, open the fridge, and the vacation has already begun. You can find more about this at the WOW FINCA Concierge. Or you can even skip the cooking. Private chef, tapas, paella, or dinner directly at the finca. The cook comes. The food comes. You stay.

Large finca. Small price per head.

The surprising thing about large houses is often not their size, but the price per person. Of course, a villa with a pool costs more at first than a small apartment. It’s just that this house is then shared by eight, ten, or twelve people. For some of our fincas for eight to twelve guests, the price starts at approximately €23 per person per night. For that, you get – depending on the house – your own pool, garden, terrace, several bedrooms, plenty of space, and nobody from room 214 putting their towel on your sun lounger at seven in the morning.

That is perhaps even the better form of luxury.

So: Which finca fits you?

The number of people is just the beginning. The real question is: How do you want to spend your vacation together? Very close? Very relaxed? With children? With friends? With multiple families? With three people who you already know will talk in the morning? That is exactly how we would choose. You can find the current houses at any time in our finca overview.
