Every day, there is a market somewhere on Mallorca. The trick is not to go every single day.

Weekly markets are the best remedy for supermarket boredom: tomatoes that taste like tomatoes, olives, cheese, sobrasada, ensaïmadas, and quite a few things you don't actually need. Here are the most important markets by day of the week – and our favorites near our fincas.

Markets near our fincas

  • Pollença (Sunday) and Port de Pollença (Wednesday): perfect for guests of Casa Llum, Finca Es Lledoner, and Finca Palma Papa.
  • Consell (Thursday): just around the corner from holiday homes Cecilio, Cayo, and Caridad. Inca (Thursday) and Santa Maria (Sunday) are not far away.
  • Sencelles (Wednesday and Saturday): the village market for guests of Finca Son Lluny – and Sineu on Wednesday is quickly accessible from there.
  • Ariany (Thursday) and Sineu (Wednesday): for guests of Holiday Home Grandina.
  • Porto Cristo (Thursday and Sunday) and Manacor (Monday): for guests of Finca Rotana.
  • Portocolom (Tuesday and Saturday) and Felanitx (Sunday): for guests of Finca Floriana.
  • Santanyí (Wednesday and Saturday): one of the most beautiful markets in the southeast – easily accessible from Villa Azul.

Our tips for visiting the market

  • Arrive early: Before 10 a.m., parking spaces are free and the vegetables are fresh.
  • Bring cash: Many stalls do not accept cards.
  • A basket instead of a plastic bag: It looks better and holds more melons.
  • Shop for your finca evening: Market in the morning, grill in the evening – vacations rarely get better than that.
