The most beautiful fincas are located where no bus goes. That is why a rental car is almost always a part of a finca holiday on Mallorca – along with a few things you should know beforehand.

Do I even need a car?

For fincas in the hinterland: yes. For houses in town or right by the sea, it is often possible to manage without one. We show which of our houses work without a car under Finca Mallorca without a rental car.

Our tips for your rental car

  • Book early: During peak season, large cars and minibuses sell out quickly – especially important for groups.
  • Full comprehensive insurance with no excess: Narrow village streets and stone walls are unforgiving. Full coverage lets you drive more relaxedly.
  • "Full/full" fuel policy: Pick up full, return full – this way you only pay for what you actually use.
  • Don't choose one that is too large: In old towns like Pollença or Sóller, the lanes are narrow. Better two smaller cars than one huge one.
  • Photograph the vehicle before departure: Documenting existing scratches saves you from discussions when returning it.

Parking on Mallorca

In Palma and many towns, there are paid parking zones, usually marked in blue. The old town of Palma is closed to normal traffic – it is best to use a parking garage on the outskirts. At the beach during peak season, the rule is: get there early. At some houses, such as Casa Llum in the old town of Pollença, it is only possible to load and unload in front of the door.

Child seat: rent instead of hauling

Child seats from rental agencies are often expensive and not always in good condition. With us, you can rent a child seat or infant carrier – and the rest of your baby equipment along with it.
